CIC's began as a humble operation in 1998 when workers in collared shirts and coveralls wielded hand tools and guided horse-drawn machinery on the first dusty construction sites. We could have never imagined that small-town builder growing into what it has become today — one of the largest and most respected construction companies. Driven by a culture of ownership, we draw upon our vast experience and rich history to leave a legacy for our clients, partners and employees.
Our History
Established by Mark Cullen: CIC's was founded in British Columbia, Canada In May 1998
The Company continues to prove itself as a consistent performer. The Globe & Mail ranks CIC'S as fifth for the top 1000 publicly traded companies in Canada for a five-year average return on common equity.
Recognizing the opportunities in modular construction, CIC's acquires 50% of Stack Modular Group of Companies.
CIC'S is one of the general contractors selected by Walmart to roll out their Canadian expansion program starting with 25 stores - the most of any general contractor. CIC'S has since completed over 100 Walmart projects from coast to coast. Other North American, big box retailers recognize CIC'S building competence in this market sector, leading to contracts with Best Buy, Lowe’s, Future Shop, Home Depot, Save on Foods and others.
CIC's signs a purchase agreement to acquire Rideau Construction Inc, a successful Atlantic region general contractor. This expands CIC's geographic footprint with offices in Halifax and Saint John.
